Conservation Impact
The More Like Wynne Outdoor Initiative will introduce children and families to the outdoors through guided weekend experiences focused on fishing, hunting, wildlife biology, and conservation. The goal is to help families who may not otherwise have access to land, mentors, or outdoor traditions experience the outdoors in a safe, educational, and meaningful way. The initiative is designed to reflect the foundation’s three core pillars:
Community – bringing families, mentors, ranchers, and conservation leaders together around shared outdoor experiences.
Conservation – teaching kids how wildlife management, habitat stewardship, and ethical hunting and fishing support conservation.
Christianity – encouraging gratitude for the beauty of creation and stewardship of the natural world in a welcoming, non-heavy-handed way.
Program Structure
The initiative will consist of two connected programs that build on each other.
Outdoor Experiences
The Outdoor Experience weekends will be the primary entry point and the foundation of the program. These small-group weekends introduce kids and their parents or mentors to outdoor activities such as:
fishing
hunting
wildlife biology
habitat conservation
outdoor safety and skills
Programs will intentionally remain small (6–10 kids plus parents) to create a high-quality, personal experience.
These weekends will also help identify kids who develop a deeper interest in the outdoors.
More Like Wynne Outdoor Fellowship Program
As the program grows, the most engaged kids will be invited to apply for the More Like Wynne Outdoor Fellowship, a two-year mentorship program. The fellowship will focus on:
advanced outdoor skills
conservation leadership
mentorship with ranchers and wildlife experts
hands-on conservation projects
This creates a pathway for kids to grow from first-time participants to conservation-minded leaders.
